''CALL CENTER AGENT''
Call Center Girl is a 2013 Filipino family[1]comedy film
directed by Don Cuaresma, starring Pokwang, Enchong Dee,
and Jessy Mendiola. The film is produced by Skylight Films
and was distributed by Star Cinema nationwide last November 27, 2013
as part of their 20th Anniversary presentation.
"CALL CENTER GIRL" gives us a chance to see Pokwang
doing her real forte, which is, comedy. For her past
two biggest movies under Star Cinema
(A Mother's Story and The Healing), she had
been showcasing her dramatic (and horror) skills,
with which she is just as effective. This time, Pokwang,
the comedian we have all loved, is back,
with a vengeance, as the Call Center Girl!
PLOT/SYNOPSIS
CALL CENTER GIRL is a story about Teresa
"Terry" Manlapat (Pokwang), an Overseas
Filipino Worker (OFW) who had been away from
her family for 13 years, to help support their needs
by working in a cruise ship. She comes back,
only to find out that her husband just passed away.
She is also faced with the problem of reuniting with
her children, who had been terribly affected by the
absence of a mother for many years.
To re-establish her life in the Philippines, she looks for
work and lands a job in a call center, which happens
to be where her youngest daughter Regina (Jessy Mendiola)
also works at. She sees this as a good opportunity
for her to get close again to Regina, who is not too
happy to see her again, thinking that she (Terry)
had abandoned them during her growing
years when she needed a mother.
As they daily face the challenges and stress of call center
life, and get to meet people from diverse backgrounds,
Terry and Reg also learn from the lives
of others, and eventually the true value of family.
