The Tinder Box elevates dining to heights of new perfection

and redefines the Cebuano taste

In the early 1980’s, The Tinder Box started out as a little

shop of vices,marketing Philippine-made cigars, cigarettes

and liquor. With a prime spot at the newly-opened Ninoy

International Airport, the small company catered to world

travelers and has been in operation until the present.

The company has spread its wings over the last 2 decades.

The little shop managed to reach the Mactan-Cebu International Airport.

A small establishment comprising of a wine cellar and

cigar lounge was likewise opened in Cebu City.

From there, in line with fulfilling its customers’ basic and

not-so basic needs, the shop started serving coffee

and snacks at the airports in Manila and Cebu.

 Sprouting from these smaller cafes, a larger stand-alone

establishment was opened in Banilad, right in the center of

 uptown Cebu City. Much like the hollow tree that the soldier

 climbed into where he found his tinder box in the fairytale,

the Tinder Box, Inc. as known to people now,

have the same various rooms of wonder.

Our deli provides our customers with various foreign

 brands of cheeses, cold cuts, meats, sweets and the like.

Chefs and bakers, whether professional or not,

find their ingredients here. It’s the perfect place to do the

while the kids enjoy the different brands of ice cream

(Arce, FIC, Pinkerton) that we carry in the café.

Or pizzas, pastas and burgers…the list goes on and on and on.

It is the place for meats and wine lovers.

You can even dined in the back room surrounded by bottles of wines.

 You can order many imported meat products of

 the ‘grocery’ counter and have them

as cold plate (appetizer).
