THUMB WRESTLING GAME

Thumb wrestling or thumb warring is a popular

game played by two players in a tournament

called a thumb-a-war (or thumb war). Thumb

Wrestling competitors hook the four fingers of

their right (or left) hands together such that

both hands are clasped tightly. Then a short

starting chant is performed and the contest

begins. The winner is the player who can pin

or hold the opponents thumb down for as

long as it takes to say 1-2-3-4 I-Win-Thumb-O-War!

Thumb wrestling was thought to originate from the UK,
and we Brit’s have embraced this sport to such a
level that you will often find Thumb Wrestling being
conducted in situations where larger or more over
complicated games might be inappropriate: such as
in the car, a restaurant, school or at work.
The World Thumb Wrestling Championships
Association were proud to hold the 1st ever
official World Thumb Wrestling Championships.
As Thumb Wrestling has for a long time been an
under valued sport in the UK calendar, we thought
this was a little surprising as nearly 50% of the
population participate in thumb wrestling at least
once a year. We therefore hope this event will
have a long and prosperous future and we aim
to be pushing the Rio 2016 Olympic committee to
have Thumb Wrestling recognized as an Olympic
event in the forthcoming and future Olympic games.

Thumb Wrestling is a fun game for all ages! This
exciting game recreates the experience of real
thumb wrestling in a new way on the iPhone.
The unique and intuitive controls mimic how you
thumb wrestle for real and make for a challenging
and satisfying action game.
A thumb war or thumb wrestling is a children's
game played by two players in a tournament
called a thumb-a-war (or thumb war) using the
thumbs to simulate fighting.[1] The object of the
game is to pin the opponent's thumb, often to
a count of three.[2][3] The San Francisco
Chronicle called the game "the miniature golf
of martial sports.
The players face each other and each holds out
their left hand or right hand in a "thumbs up",
[4] and they link hands in a monkey grip. Gameplay
has several tactics such as "playing possum",
aiming for the knuckle rather than the nail for a pin,
[3] going for a quick strike, and waiting for one's
opponent to tire.[5] Variations include making the
thumbs "bow", "kiss", or both before warring, and
to war with both hands at once, or sneak attacks,
which involve using your pointer finger to take
over the opponent.
The game is typically initiated with both the players
uttering the rhyme "One, two, three, four, I declare
a thumb war", and their thumbs passing over
each other in time with this rhyme.[7] The rhyme
is sometimes extended with "Five, six, seven, eight,
try to keep your thumb straight."[8] Variations of
the second half of the rhyme include " Five, six,
seven, eight, you are stupid, I am great. " or "Five,
six, seven, eight, you are going down mate. " and
"Five, six, seven, eight, this is going to be a piece
of cake." In Spanish, the starting song is
"ésta es la pulseada china", with the same
thumbs passing over as in English.
