My Experience at HELP Academy

Winter 2010-2011

             My name is Laura-Line Chamberland and I’m from Canada. I live in Korea with my husband who is Korean. My husband and I studied at HELP Academy for 3 months and had a great experience!

             In my case, I studied AND taught pronunciation class to the Junior students at Long Long over their winter vacation. It was a lot of fun! The students had a great time and learned a lot, as did I.

             In my free time, I took lessons with the Philippine teachers at Martin’s Academy. My courses were focused on how to teach methods and test preparation. Among my classes were Grammar, Pronunciation, Patterns, TOEIC, IELTS, OPIC and TOEFL. The teachers were excellent and I learned a great deal from them! Thanks again to my teachers!

             I was also one of the first students to graduate from the TESOL online program offered at HELP. The lessons were clear and easy to follow, as well as interesting and useful. It was a great program, and having a TESOL certificate is very important in order to teach English effectively!

             Finally, living in the dormitories at HELP was a positive experience. Our rooms were comfortable and well maintained, the staff and managers were always helpful, and the food was great!

             Overall, my husband and I were very satisfied with our stay and studies at HELP Academy. We would highly recommend HELP to anyone who wants to learn English from great teachers, develop their skills with the guidance of well organized programs, and have a safe and happy stay in Baguio!
