BATAN ISLAND
The second largest island in the province of Batanes, this is  where the capital town Basco is situated along with three other municipalities.  The entire island is blessed with natural the rolling hills of Na-idi and Payaman, the majestic Mt. Iraya, beautiful beaches, old Spanish churches, buildings, fortresses and pre-Hispanic settlements.



Batan island is the main island of Batanes, anarchipelagic province in the Philippines. It is the second largest of the Batanes Islands, the northernmost group of islands in the country.


This paradise  has a breath-taking sight which really attract tourists when they come over here.
You can call it an ultimate dream destination if you wanted to explore the nature in Philippines like Batan Island.


It is the northernmost part between the Philippines and Taiwan.

Batan Island can be called as  Batanes Island.



Volcanic in origin, the islands are rugged and rocky, but relatively flat and windswept. Only the four largest (Itbayat, Batan, Sabtang, and Ibuhos) are inhabited.





 The frequency of destructive typhoons dictates both agricultural and architectural patterns. Root crops, particularly sweet potatoes, are the main food crop, and the surplus supports a small livestock industry. Fishing is a supplementary activity. Houses are built of stone and tile in the shelter of swales or trees.
