Is a stunning, clear waterfall plunges 75 meters into

wild ferns, trees and boulders.
Its cold water provides a refreshing summer
splash to bathers and picnickers.
Katibawasan Falls is one of the treasured gifts nature has blessed
the island of Camiguin.According to the locals, the Waterfalls measures
about 250 feet high, cascades to a rock pool surrounded by ground
orchids, wild ferns, trees and boulders. The falls rushes down into
its green pool that is really refreshing for a good swim.
Tourist are welcome to swim. It is an ideal place to cool off during hot
and humid days. There is however an entrance fee of 30 pesos per
person since the falls is maintained by the province.
Giant ferns decorate the surrounding land, carpeting the
spaces and huge trees and dropping vines provides the backdrop the falls.
As far as the meaning of the word is concern, I have have not
found its meaning in Cebuano or bisaya, but I can relate it
with the illonggo dialect for the word "Katibawasan" which means:
"To have overcome".
How to get there:
If you have already rented a vehicle in Camiguin Island, you will
have no problem finding this famous spot as the driver ala tour
guide will eventually take you there. Please take note that it is
advisable not to rent a tricycle or a two wheeled roofed cart
attached to a motorcycle the locals call "Rela". There is a
certain portion along the paved road that is so steep,
the Rela may not have a problem going up without
passengers, but going down is a dangerous when the
cart is fully loaded as the motorcycle's disc brake is not
designed to hold the extra capacity. Tricycles and Relas
are now prohibited to climb up past the bridge because
an accident that happened 2 years ago. If you brought along
your vehicle with you, the falls is really very accessible.
If our reference starting point is the town proper of Mambajao,
make your way along Camiguin's national highway going south.
Not so far from the town, you will see a sign board to your righ
t indicating the way to the Provincial
Building and Katibawasan
Falls (direction going up the mountain).
As you ascend, you will
pass by the Provincial building. Another junction will take
you to Camiguin Highlands Resort, turn right to continue
your way to the Falls. You will reach a bridge which will s
ignal that the ascent is already steep. When you reached
the deflection point leveling the road, the pave road will also
end. the wide fire (rough) road will lead you to the entrance gate of Katibawasan Falls
