If ever you wondered if you touched my soul, yes you do
Since I met you I'm not the same
You bring life to everything I do
Just the way you said hello
With one touch I can't let go
Never thought I'd fall in love with you
CHORUS
Because of you, my life has changed
Thank you for the love and joy you bring
Because of you, I feel no shame
I'll tell the world it's because of you
Sometimes I get lonely and all I gotta do is think of you
You captured somethin' inside of me
You make all my dreams come true
It's not enough that you love me for me
You reached inside and touched me internally
I love you best explains how I feel for you
CHORUS
Because of you, my life has changed
Thank you for the love and joy you bring
Because of you, I feel no shame
I'll tell the world it's because of you
My life has changed
Thank you for the love and joy you bring
Because of you, I feel no shame
I'll tell the world it's because of you
BRIDGE
The magic in your eyes
True love I can't deny
When you hold me I just lose control
I want you to know that I'm never letting go
You mean so much to me, I want the world to see
It's because of you
CHORUS
Because of you, my life has changed
Thank you for the love and joy you bring
Because of you, I feel no shame
I'll tell the world it's because of you
My life has changed
Thank you for the love and joy you bring
Because of you, I feel no shame
I'll tell the world it's because of you

Born on January 5, 1981, she was named Melanie Hernandez Calumpad in Tondo, Manila. Weaned on her parent’s old school soul and jazz records—Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Aretha Franklin— Melanie soon developed an affinity to singing, hugging the mic every single chance she gets. By her 10th birthday, Melanie was already joining over prestigious TV singing contests. "Tanghalan ng Kampeon" was her first singing contest but on DZRH “Hamon sa Kampeon” was her first win in 1991. She was lording "Tanghalan ng Kampeon" for six straight weeks, and with her powerful interpretation of Jennifer Holiday’s “I Am Changing,” became the show’s grand champion in 1993.[5]
Kyla remains to be one of the most distinguished singers in the Philippines due to her very distinct "R&B voice" as well as her vocal acrobatics. Kyla is classified as Dramatic Coloratura Soprano with a vocal range spanning more than 4 octaves (C3 to C7) hitting F5 chest voice in her songs such as "Buti Na Lang" and "Atin Ang Walang Hanggan" and G#5 in her live cover of Aretha Franklin's version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Kyla is known for her raspy and husky voice as well as her use of Category 5 vocal style known as melisma and her ability to scat. Thus, her voice has often been described as the marriage of Beyonce's voice and Mariah Carey's raspy singing voice. She has also been compared to R&B singers Aaliyah and Tamia. Locally, she has often been deemed as Regine Velasquez's heiress.
