Festivals of Hope and Thanksgiving
in Negros Occidental

The town’s celebration of Charter Day and a befitting culmination of the Christmas season, the festival is conceptualized as a festival of hope and thanksgiving. Thanksgiving for all the blessings received in the year that was and hope for a prosperous new year. Its unique feature is the use of lights or “luces” as props and adornment and its nocturnal festivities and streetdancing.



Bailes De Luces: Only one in the World

The modern day Bailes de luces utilizes technology by using the light emitting

diodes (LED) that discharges and radiates the colorful and bright gleams of lights

dring the course of performance. This delightful performance reaches to its outstanding level because of the blending o dancing lights and the flamboyant

, colorful costume and gleaming headdresses of dancers.

Festival shows different good traits of the Filipino like the Bailes de luces

festival. Through Bailes de luces you can see the unity among the people in

La Castellana, Negros Occidental. Their unity is the reason behind the why

they were able to pull off a successful festival. Filipino's creativity is also

artistic ideas that can make the festival beautiful and inviting. Their
