Chikaan sa Cebu

If youre in a celebratory mood, Chikaan is the best place to go traditional and celebrate the Filipino glory. Its one of the famous restaurants in Cebu that serves authentic

Filipino food. Even if youre just plain hungry, their wide array of food in the menu would definitely leave you even wanting for more.

They dined at Chikaans branch in SM City, Cebu. Huge orb lamps made from capiz

shells dominated the ceiling. The dark wood tables and chairs; capiz panelling and

divider at the entrance; and some hand-woven banig wall decors completed the

elegant Filipino ambiance of the restaurant. Finally thier food was served by food

servers wearing traditional peasant Filipiniana costume. They serve unlimited rice

so they usually carry a caldroun of rice worn with a sling to readily replenish the staple

rice on your plate.

Nothing could go wrong with this preparation. Tossing the salted egg, cucumber, and tomatoes together is the safest that you can get with this food.

I thought it tasted bland at first until I tasted how rich the clam extract was. Theres no

need for saltiness at all because the rich flavor of the big fat clam in the soup blended well with the onion leaves and green siling labuyo. The lukot or dunsols (sea hare) egg has added to the soups texture.

My favorite Chikaan dish is the Baked Scallops which I think shared the same proportion of butter and garlic as with the Buttered Garlic Shrimp, thats why I find this to be my

other favorite.

Lets raise the Filipino flag by raising our appetite for authentic Filipino food!
