History and Company Background
The restaurant established by seasoned chef Benjie Garcia who honed his skills in numerous Japanese restaurants. He also undergone extensive training in Japanese and Asian culinary arts. Originally located in the outskirts of Makati City. Rai Rai Ken Japanese Restaurant in 'Kamagong, Makati became the favorite dining place of Japanese expats who were then working for some major infrastructure projects in the metropolis.
Rai Rai Kens products became known to a select few in the market, through word of mouth , and soon enough even celebrities, politicians, and hordes of Japanese food aficionados would make their culinary pilgrimage to Kamagong. Few years after its initial market introduction, branches sprouted in major malls like Robinsons Malate, SM Megamall, Ayala CenterMakati and Cebu, and SM Cebu.
At Present
Currently it has a Japanese Restaurant in Visayas and Mindanao with seven branches located in major malls as well as independent stores in Davao and Bohol. Recently, new branches were put up in SM Iloilo, Likmketkai in Cagayan de Oro, Tagaytay, Shell MamplasanSLEX, and Paseo de Magallanes also opened.
Products
Rai Rai Ken has expanded its menu to include Rai Rai Ken Bento which is a concoction of chicken torikaraagi, ebi tempura, beef yakiniku, fried gyoza, yasai salad, tamago and miso soup.
For those who love ramen, Rai Rai Kens garlic chili ramen, which is a combination of specially, blended garlic, chili, shrimp, and ground meat.
Priority for Quality
Joey Garcia, Marketing and Communications director of Rai Rai Ken once stressed that freshness of all the ingredients is their priority. Rai Rai Kens president and CEO Benjie Garcia spends most of his time in the kitchen more than the board room, and could be seen navigating in various fresh markets to inspect products to be delivered to the commissary.
