News: 15 dead, scores hurt in bus-truck collision in Cebu

More than a dozen people were reported killed and scores were wounded in a predawn highway accident in Naga town, Cebu province, before dawn Saturday.

A radio dzMM report said an ADC minibus (GWL-225) was speeding along the national highway in Naga town when it smashed into an approaching trailer truck (GWH-298) around 5 a.m.

The report said there were at least 15 fatalities in the collision, including bus driver Aladdin Lawit, his conductor Allan Domingo and the unidentified truck driver.

Majority of the fatalities and injured victims were passengers of the minibus, the report added.

The victims have been brought to the South General Hospital.

* People should be careful when driving, it's best not to overtake because accidents really occur. Family member's can't take the death of their loved once during accident, and I understand how the family members are grieving for their loss with this incident. *
