MANILA, Philippines - After several violent confrontations in rallies, the Manila Police District (MPD) will lodge a complaint against militant groups before the Commission on Human Rights.
Radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo reported Thursday MPD head Chief Superintendent Roberto Rosales said they will question the militants' use of children and minors in rallies.
He said the militant groups had been trying to hamper police actions by putting minors in the frontlines during confrontations.
This action exposes the youths and minors to danger and smacks of exploitation because the minors, especially children, may not be aware of what they are "fighting" for, Rosales said.
Rosales also maintained the police are not the ones starting the violence during the confrontations.
Militant groups had been attempting to march to the United States Embassy in Manila to call for the junking of the RP-US Visiting Forces Agreement and the Balikatan war games.
* Children are minors, and the way that they are joining these rallies without knowing what they are fighting for just show's these children are just being used, and could harm them. It's good that MPD are concerned for this matter. *
