A man died on Saturday after falling 10 to 15 meters from a roller coaster ride in Pasay City.
Lito Pena, 37, was declared dead on arrival at the San Juan de Dios Hospital due to his fall from the Star Flyer, an inverted roller coaster ride at Star City. Pena's remains were brought to Rizal Funeral Homes.
Star City spokesman Ed de Leon said it was impossible for Pena to fall from the ride unless he intentionally broke free from the seat's harness before it was locked by computerized control.
A Star Flyer attendant, on the other hand, disclosed that Pena had asked if falling from the ride would kill him. Pena's colleagues also said he had asked permission to go to Star City on his own.
However, it has yet to be confirmed whether or not Pena committed suicide.
Police, meanwhile, continue their investigation on the incident.
* I'm really scared in riding roller coaster rides or anything that seems dangerous because even though they tell you that it's completely safe, still accidents happen. I mean as what I've read in the report that the seat's harness was locked by computerized control then how come he still can get himself out of it. So, my type of adventure is nature and travel, nothing to do like this, I don't even like riding ferries wheel.*
