Pictures I had taken during the Sinulog Festival

On Saturday there were and already lots of display to be seen near my area in Jones for the Festival of Sinulog. Me and my friends went to E-mall to buy some groceries and I noticed there was a group of people performing a dance for Sinulog and they were performing inside the mall. The lady in violet is carrying the Sto. Nino (child Jesus), which is the Patron Saint of Cebu.

In the afternoon, we went to the place where the Sinulog Contest would be held, and we saw some contestants doing some practice. There is a fee for the entrance if you really would want to view the full performance of the Street dancing for Sinulog. And usually the sits are limited, and you need to make a reservation ahead of time. But we opted just to watch the performers on the street because it’s for free. Here are the picts that I've taken during a contestant rehearsal.

Finally, it’s Sunday! This is the actual event for Sinulog. As expected, the streets were crowded with people because everyone wants to witness the Street dancing performance which is just held once a year. I was lucky enough that I was able to watch in front and was able to take some pictures .I wasn't able to take all the contestants pictures though, because my feet were already hurting for standing for almost three hours. I truly like the colors of their costume because it’s attractive as well as the designs. I'm pretty sure each contestant, had to really think of the best and unique costume and as well as step dance in order to win the competition. I still don’t know who won the contest, but I'm going to ask my friend about it.
