Happy new year everyone! Finally, Im back here in Cebu. Just arrive yesterday afternoon. I was suppose to get back to work on Monday but unfortunately all tickets were sold out from January 1-4, I was shocked because all shipping lines and airlines were sold out on those dates. So the available departure is on the 5th of January that leaves on the evening and arrives early in Cebu. But I received an advisory from the shipping company that the departure would be on the following day due to typhoon Auring. Which really was unexpected heading in our place. I saw lots of houses totally destroyed, some infants drowned and up to now some were still missing. Its really devastating especially to those people affected. But its also reassuring because there are people whos ready to help and contribute for some clothes and food. Its showing unity in our community.
Anyways, my holiday vacation was truly amazing. Spending quality time with my family during this special occasion is something that I wouldnt miss. I also was able to visit our farm and travel to see my aunts and uncles as well as cousins. I was also able to meet some friends who also went home to spend their holidays. New Years Eve was pretty fun, it was really noisy, it seems everyone was taking turns in lighting their firecrackers and I love just looking in the sky for the fireworks. Filipino tradition during New Year is that you have to place something circle like fruits inside your house for luck and for money. Thats why fruits during this season are expensive.
Hope everything will go smoothly for this year.
