영어에서 무작정 암기해야 하는 부분이 크게 두가지가 있다면 하나는 preposition(전치사)이고
나머지 하나가 Infinitives & Gerunds(부정사 & 동명사) 인 것 같다.
규칙이 있는 부분들도 있지만 규칙이 없이 무조건 외워야 하는 경우도 많이 때문이다. 
그래서 어떠한 동사에 따라 다음에 나오는 것이 부정사이거나 ing 꼴인 것은 그냥
그 동사와 함께 암기하는 것이 현명한 선택 인 것 같다.



대표적으로 뒤에 부정사가 나오는 동사들은

afford - I can't afford to buy it

agree - They agreed to help us

appear - She appears to be tired

want - I want to tell you something

hope - Jack hopes to arrive next week

intend - He intends to be a firefighter

그리고 뒤에 동명사가 나오는 것들은

admit - He admitted stealing the money

anticipate - I anticipate having a good time on vacation

consider - I will consider going with you

enjoy - We enjoyed visiting them

keep - I keep hoping he will come

quit - He quit trying to solve the problem

그리고 forget, continue, like, love 등 동사들은 부정사와 동명사 둘 다 쓸 수가 있다.
