'Ang Babae sa Septic Tank'
Ang Babae sa Septic Tank, topbilled by comedy royalty, Eugene Domingo. Also starring in the movie are JM de Guzman, Kean Cipriano and Cai Cortez.
Ang Babae sa Septic Tank is the second collaborative effort of director Marlon Rivera and producer Chris Martinez; it is also their entry to this years Cinemalaya. Back in 2008, they already worked on the drama 100 for the local film fests fourth edition. This time around, the two indie filmmakers are back with a hilarious parody of the creative process of indie filmmaking. Like most filmmakers they know, they have devised a screenplay that will show the real essence of our culture: poverty.
Babae sa Septic Tank is a comedy about misguided ambitions, the art of making art and the romanticization of poverty.
Through this film, Domingo once again proved that she is one of the best comediennes we have today. Every scene shes in did not fail to make the audience laugh.Wait until you actually see Domingo act them out.
Ang Babae sa Septic Tank might just be one of the best and most memorable entries in this years Cinemalaya. It definitely did not disappoint in bringing in the laughs as it had many genuinely funny scenes, whether intentional and not. It will even have you grinning as you leave the theater, not to mention still quoting to your companions the best parts of the film. It's just that good.
Make sure to stay in your seats until after the credits start rolling to see it.
