Biography

Born on February 14, 1985 to restaurateurs Reynaldo Ongpauco and Cecilia Payawal,

Heart is the youngest in her family, with one brother and five sisters.

She grew up in Foster City, California, in the United States where she attended Audubon

Elementary School. At age ten, her family moved back to the Philippines, and she transferred to Colegio San Agustin-Makati in Makati City. When she began pursuing her childhood dream of becoming an actress,she continued her high school education at ABS-CBN's

Distance Learning Center.Her Chinese paternal grandparent, a movie producer and actors'

caterer,founded the first Barrio Fiesta Restaurant, of a now-international chain, in 1958.

Career

Evangelista was first discovered by a commercial agent while at a mall with her sister. She signed up with the Star Magic agency, formerly known as Talent Center, and was part of

Star Circle Batch 9. She was paired with John Prats on the show G-Mik and also on Trip,

Ang Tanging Ina, My First Romance and Berks.
