The Power of Love by: Mitoy Yonting
The whispers in the morning
Of lovers sleeping tight
Are rolling by like thunder now
As I look in your eyes
I hold on to your body
And feel each move you make
Your voice is warm and tender
A love that I could not forsake
(chorus)
'Cause you're my lady
And I am your man
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can
Thust is how I'm feeling
Lying in your arms
when the world sends to much to take
That all ends when I am with you
Even though there may be times
It seems I'm farther away
Never wonder where I am
'Cause I am always by your side
(2nd chorus)
'Cause you're my lady
And I am your man
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can
We're heading for something
Somewhere I've never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I'm ready to learn
Of the power of love
The sound of your heart beating
Made it clear suddenly
the feeling that I can't go on
Is a light years away
(2nd chorus)
'Cause you're my lady
And I am your man
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can
We're heading for something
Somewhere I've never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I'm ready to learn
Of the power of love
the power of love
ooh ooh oooh
sometimes i am frightened by im ready to learnt
the power of love

MANILA, Philippines—Mitoy Yonting, a Pangasinan-hailing Metro Manila
resident gifted with an unusual rock baritone, has emerged
as the first ever winner of “The Voice of the
Philippines,” besting fellow finalists
Klarisse De Guzman, Janice
Javier and Myk Perez.
The verdict came mainly through viewer votes in the show’s grand finale tonight,
the show’s 32nd episode since debuting last June 15 and becoming a
consistent primetime top rater for ABS-CBN. The finale aired
live over the broadcast network’s main channel as i
t was held at the Newport Performing Arts
Theater in Resorts World Manila
in Pasay City.
Yonting’s victory is also that of his coach,
internationally awarded singer Lea Salonga, who consequently
bested her fellow coaches Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo Mañalac and Allan “Apl.de.ap” Pineda.
LIFESTORY & MUSICAL BACKGROUND
Mitoy discovered his passion for music at an early age. Like most artists,
he actively pursued a career in the industry but luck gave him half
-a-wish. The young Mitoy back then had joined various
televised talent searches that lead to various tv
appearances. He even earned a slot at a
noontime show as a comedian-
singer, but sadly, his
career did not
reach a full
throttle.
Right before the big winner was announced tonight, Salonga remarked to
Yonting, whose many years of singing experience have made
his vocalizations seem effortless, to let her be his
“guardian angel, [constantly] watching over
[his] shoulder” as he makes his way
in the music biz.
As the winner of
“The Voice of the Philippines,”
Yonting brings home a 2 million pesos
cash prize and a4-year recording contract with
MCA Universal, amongother prizes.
