When Barbie Almalbis went solo, she opened herself to many risks. But she overturned the doubts and instead she was quickly recognized in hit charts and radio airplays.

Included in this 12-track recording are ���High���, ���Dahilan���, and the Eraserheads��� ���Overdrive���.

All of these became number one in radio request charts.Sunsilk shampoo was also impressed with her ���Summer Day��� that it became its summer campaign theme.

Parade is her second solo album after Barbie: The Singles was released last year.

Counting her success, which is but nine months, Barbie has created a fever for her brand of music.Since then she has also done an ever refreshing jingle ���Just a Smile��� for Close Up���s TV advert.

This song brought her solo career to the launch pad as it became number one in five weeks on Mobile Myx Top Picks.Barbie was then well-known as the lead vocalist of Barbie���s Cradle in 2000.

That was after she starred in Hungry Young Poets three years earlier. Her previous compositions back in the bands like ���Torpe���, ���Tabing Ilog���, ���Firewoman���, ���Goodnyt���, and ���The Dance��� enjoyed many followers.Right now Barbie is nominated as the Best Female Artist of the Year of the 2006 Awit Awards.

Again, all of these in less than a year.Parade is collaboration between 12 Stone Records and Warner Musuc Philippines. 
 
Yvette Barbra Almalbis Honasan (born August 26, 1977 in Roxas City, Capiz), more commonly known as Barbie Almalbis, is a popular singer and songwriter from the Philippines.

Formerly the lead singer of the popular bands Hungry Young Poets and Barbie's Cradle, she pursued a solo career in 2005, releasing her self-titled compilation album, Barbie: The Singles.

In 2006, she released her debut solo album, Parade. Her music is characterised by a rather quirky, but endearing vocal style, and guitar work.

Barbie is a capable guitarist in her own right and a painter; she is a born-again Christian and is married to Martin Honasan (the son of the Sen. Gringo Honasan), a painter and scion of a Philippine political family. The couple named their firstborn Noa Stina.
