MANGO FESTIVAL
IBA, Zambales - Zambales, known for producing some of the
worlds sweetest mangoes, marks another milestone this
week when it playS host to the 15th National Mango
Congress, an annual convention of stakeholders in
the countrys mango industry.
The Zambales Mango festival is the biggest yearly festival in the
province in which all of its 13 town participate.
Description The event is a celebration of a bountiful harvest
of mangoes and other agricultural products which the
province is so known for. It is aimed to highlight the must-see
attractions and places of interest in all its towns. Among the
activities during the event include Hataw Saya Street
Dancing Competition, trade fair and exhibit, Lakbay Zamables
Cycling Competition, PINAKA Product Display,
Mango Fruit Stand Competition, Agri-Karera ng Kalabaw,
Huli Mo, Biik Mo, Alaga ko si Bantay Competition,
Sand Sculpting Competition, Mango Mixing Bar-tending
Competition, Mango Ultimate Dance Showdown,
Mango Jam and Pie Making and much more.
The provincial government of Zambales is all set for its
annual Mango Festival with a one week activity to
showcase its number one product in the province- its sweet mango.
Mango from the province of Zambales has been
tagged as one of the sweetest in the world.
Tel Mora of the Provincial Tourism and Investment
Promotion Office said that this years festival will be
the most eventful in the history of the festival—
bringing markedly must-see activities set on March 19-24.
More than 5000 tourists and visitors are expected
to troop during the one week festival
which will showcase talents from
13 towns that prepared for Parayawan
–dressing their facade with mango
theme which will set the mood.
The first day of celebration will feature PINAKA LGU Booth
Showcase which will highlights the best in different
municipality a trade fair and exhibits will also be open,
offering this province distinct product—from dried
mangoes, mango wines, mango tart,
mango jam, mango candies as well.
The one week festival will be having activities such as
National Mango Congress, street and civic parade,
float competitions, street dancing competitions, and
cultural presentations, mango carving competitions
and the PINAKA Competition.Other activities also
include Ms. Zambalena Senior Citizen Coronation Night,
search for Mango Master Chef and Mango Wine Mixing
and Bartending Competition.
The much anticipated Grand Parade will be held
on March 23 together with Street Dance
Competition. Capping of the Mango Festival
on March 24 is the sand sculpturing
competition and lifesaving Mango Olympics
in the serene beaches of the province,
inter-town drum and lyre competition in
the morning followed by astonishing
performances of ZAMBA Summer Saya
Variety Show in the evening.
