The minimum fare for public utility jeeps and buses in Cebu and Central Visayas will now be P6.50, after the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) approved a 50-centavo rollback.
Radio dzBB's Cebu affiliate reported LTFRB Chairman Alberto Suansing approved the 50-centavo rollback, amid claims by some groups of high costs of vehicle spare parts.
Suansing cited the lower prices of fuel products in approving the 50-centavo rollback for public utility vehicles in the region, the report said.
The LTFRB also reiterated students and senior citizens will be entitled to a 20-percent discount, or a P5.20 minimum fare.
